The idea
I wanted a planter that looked like a real honeycomb cell. Hex shape. Stackable. Honey-yellow. I drew it on paper first, then made the model in Tinkercad โ six flat sides, an angled bottom rim, and walls thick enough to hold dirt without bending.
The build
I sliced the model in Bambu Studio and printed it on the A1 with the AMS so it could swap colors automatically. I used 0.2mm layers for a smooth side surface and added a small drainage hole through the bottom. The first try came out a little wobbly because the supports were too thin, so I went back, made them thicker, and tried again. The second print worked. It took about 4 hours and 42 grams of filament. After it cooled, I peeled it off the build plate and sanded the bottom edges so it sits flat.
The result
I planted a tiny succulent in it and put it on the windowsill next to my seedling lab. It looks like a real honeycomb. My mom said it's her favorite thing I've made โ that's the seal of approval.
Next time
I want to make a bigger version that holds three plants, and try a clear PETG version so you can see the roots growing inside.
